Ella Langley is ushering in a deeply personal chapter with the release of the ballad “Loving Life Again,” a preview of her upcoming album Dandelion, arriving April 10. The track is accompanied by a lyric video co-directed by Langley and Wales Toney, featuring her barefoot at her grandfather’s piano in an Alabama field—an image that mirrors the song’s grounding, back-to-basics message.
Written alongside ERNEST and Devin Dawson, Loving Life Again captures Langley’s journey through a challenging period marked by burnout, self-doubt, and the pressures of rapid success. She previously stepped away from touring to focus on her health, later sharing with fans, “I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down than ever… I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health — mind, body, and heart.” During that time, she returned home to Alabama, leaned into family and faith, and began to feel like herself again.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Langley said, “‘Loving Life Again’ was one of those songs that I wrote, almost because I needed to. Last year, I just kind of lost my mind a little bit. My imposter syndrome kicked in. My life was moving faster than ever. All my dreams were coming true, but I felt sad for some reason, and just that in itself was frustrating. So I kinda lost myself a little bit last year and that was tough because all of these amazing things are happening in my life, and you’d think you’d be the happiest person in the world. I never cancel anything, maybe one or two shows the whole time, and I ended up canceling two weeks’ worth. So I did that, I came back here. I closed on my first house here in Alabama, coincidentally right around the same time, and I really just got to be back home with my family. I got to grow my relationship with my faith. When I looked in the mirror, I looked like myself again by the end of those two weeks. I was hanging out with Ernest and he asked “Well, how are you doing?” And I kind of just looked at him and said: “Looks like I’m back to love in life again.”
Ella’s latest track joins the previously released singles “Be Her,” “Dandelion,” and the massive hit “Choosin’ Texas,” which continues to dominate multiple charts and has reached historic milestones, including tying records on the Billboard Hot 100 for a female artist with a No. 1 country crossover.
Langley will bring the album to life on the road with her Dandelion Tour, launching May 7 in Toledo, Ohio, and running through mid-August, with stops in cities like St. Louis, Austin, and Fort Worth. Select dates will feature support from Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth. She’s also set to join Morgan Wallen on tour and make her Stagecoach debut this April.
