The Delta Fair Parade is quickly approaching. This years parade is being held on Tuesday evening September 25th and the Kennett Police Department has some thoughts about getting the parade lined up and starting on time.
The quickest and best route for the parade entries to get to their designated spots will be to travel around the North Bypass to North Street. Entries will be met by parade committee members at the intersection of the North Bypass and North Street and directed east on North then South on Walter Street to their designated spots.
Authorities say, If you are not going to be in the parade or you are not dropping anyone off to be in the parade, please avoid this area of town if at all possible as it is usually very hectic and chaotic for all involved. Again, this is a very hectic assignment for the Kennett Police department and they want everyone to have a good time, however, the safety of everyone involved is their main concern.
Authorities said and we quote, “We will not tolerate any act that could possibly place someone in danger. There will be absolutely zero tolerance for any violations in this area and anyone caught moving barricades without permission from Law Enforcement or the Parade Committee will be arrested.”
