Kennett Police report August 21 – 26, 2018

8-26-2018

At approximately 12:18 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Michael Street in reference to someone hiding in the bushes outside the residence. Upon arrival, no one was located in the bushes. Officers conducted routine warrant checks on the subjects present and while doing so learned that one individual had an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Officers subsequently arrested 27-year-old Ladonna Meek of Kennett on the warrant and while doing so located narcotic related paraphernalia on her person. Meek, who had already been secured with handcuffs, then decided to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Meek was again apprehended and then transported to the Dunklin County Justice Center. Meek was held in the facility on the aforementioned warrant as well as placed on a 24-hour hold for Resisting Arrest and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.



At approximately 1:13 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on 1st Street near Airport Road. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 52-year-old Eddie Brown of Paragould Arkansas for Driving While Intoxicated (chronic offender). Brown was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 2:13 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on Independence Avenue near Blair Street. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 19-year-old Hayley Moody of Holcomb on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Moody was transported to and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 3:34 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of North Everett Street in reference to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, the suspect fled from officers on foot and was not located. The suspect was identified and charges are expected to be filed by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 8:51 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Elaine in reference to vandalism. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had spray painted vulgar drawings on the victim’s fence. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 11:57 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Astrachan in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned that while the tenants were away, someone unlawfully entered the residence and stole several items. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 2:56 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Harrison Street in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that the juvenile suspect had thrown a fan through a glass window causing the glass to cut the victims face. The juvenile was later turned over to the Dunklin County Juvenile Office.

At approximately 9:17 pm, officers were dispatched to Huck’s on Saint Francis Street in reference to two females in a vehicle selling narcotics. Upon arrival in the area, officers located a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, no narcotics were located, however, officers arrested 34-year-old Katrina Feltus of Kennett on two active Kennett Municipal warrants. Feltus was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only.

At approximately 9:18 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Miss Clara Drive in reference to a stolen cell phone. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victims’ cell phone had been stolen by force by a subject whom the victim identified. At the time of this report, the suspect was not located however, charges are expected to be filed by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

8-25-2018

At approximately 8:39 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of South Walnut Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had entered the victim’s residence while he was away and had stolen items from within the residence. At the time of this report, there are no suspects, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 10:21 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of West Washington Street in reference to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, officers learned that the utilities had been shut off at the residence and the owner of the residence stated that the tenants were refusing to leave. Upon contacting the tenant, they were advised that they could not be living inside the residence without utilities. The tenant left.

At approximately 10:44 am, officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to three juvenile shoplifters inside the store. Upon arrival, officers learned that the juveniles had been detained after shoplifting. The juveniles were detained and later turned over to their parents pending notification from the Dunklin County Juvenile Office.

At approximately 10:53 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Lois Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had broken into the victim’s residence and stole several items. At the time of this report, there are no suspects, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 4:04 pm, officers were dispatched to Bill’s Bar-B-Que restaurant on Saint Francis Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had unlawfully and forcefully entered the business and stole several items. At the time of this report, a possible suspect was identified, however, has not been located. This incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 4:26 pm, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 22-year-old

Welch of Kennett on an active Probation/Parole warrant. Welch was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 7:05 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Jones Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had stolen the victim’s bicycle. At the time of this report, there are no suspects, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 10:05 pm, officers were dispatched to The Store located on Independence Avenue in reference to a person refusing to leave the restroom while employees were attempting to close the business. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers located an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and narcotic related paraphernalia in the subjects’ possession. Officers subsequently arrested 29-year-old Johnny Rudd of Kennett for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Rudd was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

8-24-2018

At approximately 6:12 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Russell Street in reference to property damage. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle had struck the victims fence while they were not home. At the time of this report, there are no suspects, and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 7:35 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Miss Clara Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that the dispute was between a married couple and that neither wished to pursue charges. Both parties refused to leave the residence and were advised of the Missouri domestic violence statutes.

At approximately 10:17 pm, officers arrested 37-year-old Kevin Nelson of Kennett on an active Missouri Probation/Parole warrant. Nelson was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 3:12 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of North Street in reference to a subject attempting to get into a residence. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 28-year old David Daniels of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Daniels was held in the Dunlin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 5:04 pm, officers arrested 44-year-old Terry Davis of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Davis was later released with a new court date after posting bond.

At approximately 6:33 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on the North Bypass near the intersection of Vandenventer. During the stop, officers located an undisclosed amount of prescription medication. Officers subsequently arrested 33-year-old Salena Gibson of Kennett for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Gibson was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

8-22-2018

At approximately 4:25 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of East Fourth Street in reference to a subject being held hostage. Upon arrival, officers learned that the two victims were awakened by four suspects being inside their residence, armed with a firearm, and demanding money. Further information indicated that two suspects stayed with one victim who had been tied to a bed while the other victim was taken against his will to a residence in Hayti where he was eventually released. Several items including currency, cell phones, and electronics were stolen from the victims during the incident. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 11:58 am, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of West Ninth Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had stolen tires and rims off of the victim’s porch during the night. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 2:07 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Madison Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had unlawfully entered the residence and stole materials being used to update the residence. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 4:01 pm, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 37-year-old Tabitha Chase of Kennett on an active Probation/Parole warrant. Chase was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 9:02 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of West Ninth Street to in reference to a child that had been abused and subsequently flown to a medical center in Memphis Tennessee. Upon arrival, officers learned that the child had suffered multiple injuries prior to being flown out. At the time of this report, a possible suspect was identified, and the incident remains under investigation.

8-21-2018

At approximately 2:01 am, officers arrested 24-year-old Donald Borders of Hayti on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Borders was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 9:01 am, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 41-year-old Kevin Bowles of Hornersville on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Bowles was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 2:07 pm, officers were dispatched to the SEMO Community Services office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 65-year-old Danny McWilliams of Kennett on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. McWilliams was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 5:45 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Franklin in reference to property damage. Upon arrival, officers learned that a juvenile had damaged the victim’s vehicle. The juvenile was later turned over to the Dunklin County Juvenile Office.

At approximately 9:43 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North and North Main Streets. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 25-year-old

Jerrica Wheeler of Kennett for Driving While Intoxicated. Wheeler was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center where she was scheduled to be released at a later time on a Kennett Municipal Court summons.
