Kennett Police Reports May 8 – 14, 2018

At approximately 12:36 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on First Street near Airport Road. During the stop, officers utilized K-9 Gabriel and a “free air sniff” was conducted around the outside of the vehicle. During the free air sniff, K-9 Gabriel alerted to the odor of narcotics. After a search of the vehicle was conducted, officers located an undisclosed amount of purported methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Officers subsequently arrested 43-year-old Victor Murillo of Kennett for Possession of a controlled substance. Murillo was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 7:20 am, officers were dispatched to the Kennett Parks and Recreation office on East Second Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had unlawfully entered the property and stolen several batteries from several of the vehicles parked there. At the time of this report, there are no suspects and the incident is still under investigation.

At approximately 11:55 am, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 26-year-old DeMarcus McIntyre of Kennett on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Pemiscot County. McIntyre was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 1:41 pm, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 48-year-old Jerry Hill of Gibson on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Hill was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 1:44 pm, officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to a person trespassing on the property. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 32-year-old Phillip McClish of Kennett for trespassing. McClish was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending his court date.

At approximately 7:33 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Devin and Electric Streets in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that the argument was verbal only, neither party wished to pursue charges, and both parties agreed to separate.

At approximately 9:07 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Jackson and Beaton Streets. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 30-year-old Jesus Puga of Kennett. Puga was arrested on a total of four active warrants for his arrest issued by the Missouri Probation and Parole Board, Dunklin County, Pemiscot County, and the city of Kennett. Puga was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only.

At approximately 9:21 pm, officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to a subject being inside the store fraudulently using credit cards which had been previously been reported stolen during a theft, which ironically occurred in the same Wal-Mart parking lot the day prior. Upon arrival, officers arrested 36-year-old Daniel Bachelor of Kennett for Burglary 1st Degree and two counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. Bachelor was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

5-13-2018

At approximately 5:19 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Dolph Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers noted that the disturbance was verbal only. One party agreed to leave after neither side wished to pursue charges.

At approximately 11:35 am, officers were dispatched to the Sonic restaurant in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim involved did not wish to pursue charges.

At approximately 4:13 pm, officers arrested 43-year-old Michael Freeman of Kennett on an active state of Missouri warrant issued through Dunklin County. Freeman was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 7:34 pm, officers assisted the Kennett Fire Department at a suspicious shed fire in the 800 block of Maple Street. At the time of this report, the incident is still under investigation.

At approximately 11:53 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop near the Wal-Mart parking lot. During the stop, officers utilized K-9 Gabriel and a “free air sniff” was conducted around the outside of the vehicle. During the free air sniff, K-9 Gabriel alerted to the odor of narcotics. After a search of the vehicle was conducted, officers located an undisclosed amount of purported marijuana and paraphernalia. Officers subsequently arrested 33-year-old Tracy Cooper of Kennett for Possession of Marijuana. Cooper was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending his court date.

5-12-2018

At approximately 1:10 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Walnut Street in reference to a subject who had just stolen a firearm from the residence and left walking. Upon arrival, in the area, officers located and detained 43-year-old Michael Freeman of Kennett. During the detention, Freeman was found to be in possession of the firearm that had been reported stolen. Officers then arrested Freeman for Theft of a Firearm and for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. After being transported to the Dunklin County Justice Center, Freeman attempted to escape however was quickly subdued and secured. Freeman was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

At approximately 5:45 pm, officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in reference to a shoplifter leaving the store in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located and stopped the vehicle. Officers subsequently arrested 25-year-old Jamie Harris Jr of Kennett. Harris was later released on a Kennett Municipal Court summons pending his court date.

At approximately 6:46 pm, officers arrested 32-year-old James Rogers of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Rogers was unable to post bond and was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 8:31 pm, officers were dispatched to the Missouri Probation and Parole office in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, officers subsequently arrested 27-year-old Michael Berry of Kennett on an active Probation and Parole warrant. Berry was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 9:31 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Main and Fifth Streets. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 17-year-old Ethan Combs of Kennett on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Combs was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 10:22 pm, officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Travis Drive. The vehicle was later located abandoned behind a residence on Kenton Street. Officers later located three juveniles who had been inside the vehicle. After the owner of the vehicle was contacted, the owner decided to not pursue charges and the juveniles were released to their parents pending notification from the Dunklin County Juvenile Office.

At approximately 2:18 am, officers arrested 38-year-old Keesha Reeves of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Reeves was unable to post bond and was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 4:23 am, officers arrested 41-year-old Kizer Tiner of Steele on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Tiner was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 10:29 am, officers arrested 37-year-old Tamitha Eaves of Union City Tennessee on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Pemiscot County. Eaves was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 6:24 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Independence Avenue near the Casey’s General Store. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 17-year-old Jasmyn Mitchell of Dexter on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Mitchell was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 6:49 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on the South Bypass near Kelly Electric. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 48-year old David Sloan of Kennett on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Sloan was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 9:28 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Henderson Street near Vandeventer Street. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 39-year-old Glenn Fortner of Holcomb on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Fortner was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 10:15 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Independence Avenue near the Casey’s General Store. During the stop, officers subsequently arrested 27-year-old Ladonna Meek of Arnold on three active Kennett Municipal warrants. Meek was unable to post bond and was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrants only.

At approximately 4:50 pm, officers received information that the wanted person who had fled from officers twice in a vehicle the previous two days was inside a residence in the 1200 block of Crawford Street. Officers were able to make contact at the residence and took the suspect into custody without incident. Officers subsequently arrested 32-year-old James Brown of Kennett on a state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County, a Missouri Probation and Parole warrant, as well as for two counts of felony resisting which are expected to be filed by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office. Brown was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center. The Kennett Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department.

At approximately 6:09 pm, officers arrested 25-year-old Hayley Flood of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Flood was unable to post bond and was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 9:05 pm, officers arrested 40-year-old Michael Pardon of Kennett on an active Kennett Municipal warrant. Pardon was unable to post bond and was held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only

At approximately 11:31 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Emerson Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, and after subsequent investigation, officers arrested 36-year-old Jarod Anderson on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County. Anderson was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant only.

At approximately 12:34 pm, officers received numerous reports of a vehicle traveling in a careless manner on First Street. Officers subsequently located and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. During the stop, officers arrested 59-year-old Pamela Dunn of Piggott Arkansas for Driving While Intoxicated. Dunn was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center.

At approximately 5:48 pm, an officer observed a subject known to have an outstanding felony warrant for Assault 1st Degree, operating a vehicle on Harris Street. As officers attempted to stop the subject, he refused and a vehicle pursuit ensued. After the brief vehicle pursuit, the suspect drove into a yard on Willoughby Street, exited the vehicle, and fled on foot. At the time of this report, officers were unable to locate the suspect. It should be noted that this is the same individual who fled from officers on 5-7-2018 and was not located. The suspect, who already has two active felony warrants is now also facing two extra charges of felony resisting arrest stemming from these two incidents.

At approximately 10:31 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Russell Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had entered the residences while the tenant was away and stole several items. At the time of this report, there are no suspects.
