The Steele Police Department has announced an increased traffic enforcement effort for the summer season.

As the summer season approaches, the Steele Police Department will increase traffic enforcement throughout the city. This initiative is aimed at promoting safety for all motorists, passengers, and pedestrians. Residents and visitors are reminded of the following legal requirements for operating vehicles on city streets:

  • All drivers must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • All motor vehicles must be properly insured.

  • Motorcycles must display a valid license plate.

  • Individuals under the age of 26 operating or riding a motorcycle are required to wear a helmet.

  • Motorcycle operators must have a valid motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license.

To operate an ATV or UTV within city limits, individuals must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a city-issued permit. Additionally, vehicle owners can be cited if they allow an unauthorized or unlicensed individual to operate their motor vehicle.

The Steele Police Department encourages everyone to follow these regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for the entire community. Increased enforcement will focus on compliance with these laws, and citations will be issued when violations are observed.
