
Two men are in custody as suspects in a drive-by shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 15th, in Kennett that sent two people to the hospital.
Officers responded to a report of shots being fired on North Everett Street around 8:46pm on Wednesday night. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest and a second victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. Both individuals were airlifted to a hospital out-of-state for treatment.
During the investigation, two men were identified as suspects – 20 year old Kordaie Hunter and 19 year old Daniel Hunter. According to witnesses, the two suspected shooters allegedly fired at the victims from a vehicle as they drove by. The suspects then left the scene. Warrants were issued for the both suspects and they were later apprehended and being held in the Dunklin County Jail with bonds set at $850,000 cash only. Dunklin County Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Dicus filed the following charges against each man – first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
This incident is still under investigation.
