
The Pemiscot County R-3 and Cooter R-4 School Boards have recently voted to place a school consolidation measure on the August 4, 2026 ballot. If this measure passes, school consolidation will begin with the 2027-2028 school year.
This initiative represents an opportunity for both districts to combine resources and enhance educational opportunities, with the goal of maximizing student success. Ballot Language:
Shall the Pemiscot County R-III School District and the Cooter R-IV School District form a new district with a tax rate ceiling of $4.4193 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation. If this proposition is approved the District operating levy of the new school district is estimated to be $4.4193 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.
