MSHP Responds to Fatal Accident in New Madrid County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a serious ATV accident in New Madrid County on MO-WW, eight miles east of New Madrid.

The crash occurred on Saturday, March 21st, at 6:50pm when a 2004 Honda 450 RTRX, operated by a 20 year old male from New Madrid, stopped in the roadway. The Honda was then rear ended by a 2024 Yamaha Raptor 700, operated by a 31 year old male from New Madrid. The impact caused the drivers of both ATVs to be ejected.

The driver of the Raptor sustained serious injuries and was transported by Air Evac to Region One in Memphis.

On Sunday, March 22nd,  at 9:50pm, the MSHP responded to a fatal crash in New Madrid County, two miles south of Marston on County Road 403.

The fatal crash occurred as a 2021 GMC Sierra, driven by a 21 year old male from Columbia, Illinois, was driving in a field and overturned. A 19 year old occupant from Farmington, MO, was seriously injured and transported by ambualnce to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. A 21 year old occupant from Kirtland, New Mexico, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene at 10:19pm by New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle.
