
On Wednesday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a serious accident on US 61 at I55 in Fruitland.
The crash occurred at 6:50pm when a 2025 Nissan Altima, driven by a 58 year old male from Jackson, MO., turned into the path of a 2011 Honda Ridgeline, driven by a 50 year old male from Glen Allen, MO.
Multiple people sustained injuries in the accident.
The driver of the Altima received minor injuries while a 57 year old female occupant of the vehicle sustained serious injuries. The 50 year old male driver of the Ridgeline received moderate injuries in the accident as well.
All were wearing their seat belt and all were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
