The City of Dexter is one step closer to becoming the “Rib City” of Missouri. Bipartisan Bill 1651 sponsored by State Representative Steve Jordan of Advance, was unanimously approved by an 11-0 vote by the Missouri House Special Committee on Tourism.
Dexter city administrator David Wyman says, “Dexter has a long history of excellent barbecue restaurants that have stood the test of time.” Wyman and other supporters say the designation would help market Dexter and could potentially increase tourism.
There is no organized opposition to the bill.
