
On Tuesday, November 11th, the Rector Police Department assisted the Clay County Sheriff Department, Arkansas State Police, and representatives of the US Marshals in the apprehension of a fugitive from Tennessee, who was hiding in an area west of Greenway.
Bail enforcement agents from Tennessee located the subject who was wanted on a nationwide extradition warrant and were able to maintain visual of the subject while law enforcement agencies planned an arrest. As officers positioned around the location, two subjects left in a pickup truck heading towards Greenway, with one of the subjects being the target individual. A traffic stop and takedown was initiated without incident and both subjects were taken into custody.
A K-9 officer was utilized, resulting in multiple hits on the vehicle. Clay County Sheriff’s Department Deputies recovered several syringes, many containing methamphetamine in numerous locations in the vehicle.
Officers also made contact with subjects at the residence from which the two men fleed, and discovered more articles, leading to the arrest of subjects at the residence as well.
This is another instance where law enforcement agencies working together can effectively remove dangers in the community.
