The Clarkton School District has informed parents and patrons that it has become aware of a potential threat of violence toward one of the schools. Superintendent Melanie Tipton, in a letter posted on social media, reported immediate and substantial steps were taken in response, including contacting local law enforcement and ensuring that access to the district’s buildings remains limited to authorized people today.
While no details were disclosed, Tipton wrote that the District is cooperating fully with law enforcement and a has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to threats of violence.
