Summer is here and if you didn’t realize it, you will this weekend when the temps hit the mid 90s. The hot temps can be deadly for pets left in a car. Kennett Humane Department Officer Tena Petix says this happens a lot every year – in fact, it already has.
Petix says a car heats up too fast for an animal to be left unattended.
Today with the high around 90, in 10 minutes a car’s temp is about 109 degrees; in a half hour it’s over 120 degrees. Petix’s advice — leave your pets at home when you go to the store.
