Four Hurt in Pemiscot County Wrecks

Two wrecks in Pemiscot County yesterday left four people hurt. The MSHP reports the first accident happened at 10:20 a.m. on Martin Luther King Drive in Hayti Heights when 20 year old Jashona Weatherspoon of Caruthersville lost control of her vehicle after it hit a speed bump, and it struck a parked vehicle.

Weatherspoon was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The second accident happened last night at 7:15 p.m. on I-55 northbound at the 19.4 MM when a Freightliner slid on the wet highway and overturned – a car then struck the 18-wheeler. According to Troop E, the truck driver, 31 year old Jasminder Singh of Beaver Creek, OH, was seriously hurt.

The driver of the car and a passenger – 69 year old Richard Hyndman and 67 year old Margaret Hyndman, both of Coralville, IA – received moderate injuries.

The injured were all taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.
