On April 19, 2026, the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested an individual for multiple charges.
At approximately 5:16 pm, Dunklin County Deputies were dispatched to the area of County Road 532, outside Kennett, in reference to a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with two involved subjects. During the course of the investigation, the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office determined that one subject confronted the other while armed with a rifle. After initially leaving the scene, the armed subject followed the other individual to a neighboring residence, where he again confronted him and discharged multiple rounds into the victim’s unoccupied vehicle. The victim was not inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting and was not injured.
A search warrant was executed at the residence of the suspect. During the search, deputies located and seized; two illegally possessed firearms with ammunition, methamphetamine and associated drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of suspected marijuana.
As a result of the investigation, one subject was taken into custody and transported to the Dunklin County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Senath Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for their assistance. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
