DYERSBURG, TN — On Friday, March 6, 2026, the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office announced an arrest following an extensive investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division.
Following a thorough review of the evidence gathered during the investigation, probable cause ws determined to support the arrest of 54 year old George Aaron Pilkington, charging him with Aggravated Sexual Battery (against a minor). Pilkington was taken into custody without incident and is scheduled to appear in Dyer County General Sessions Court today.
In the release, Lt. Jim Joyner said, “I commend Investigator Heather Defoe for the outstanding work on this case. The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to the safety and well-being of all citizens in our community. We take allegations of this nature very seriously and will continue to pursue justice on behalf of victims. Our Criminal Investigation Division works diligently to ensure that thorough and professional investigations are conducted so that those who commit crimes in Dyer County are held accountable.”
