
Hayti Chief of Police David Maclin reports:
On Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, at approximately 5:25pm, Hayti Police Officers located and arrested 49 year old Marsha M. Davis of Hayti, in the 300 block of E. Washington. Davis was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Endangering Welfare of Child creating Substantial Risk – 1st Degree – 1st offence, which is a Class D Felony. Davis was processed and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center with a $5,000 surety bond.
On Friday, February 20th, 2026, at approximately 6:20am, Hayti Police Officers were called to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in reference to a vehicle theft that had just occurred. Officers spoke with the victim and obtained information of the stolen vehicle. Officers identified the suspect as 50 year old Johnny R. Davis of Kennett and also learned that the suspect had just been released from the emergency room. A short time later, Hayti Police Officers, with assistance from the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s department and the Kennett Police Department, arrested Davis in Kennett. Davis was still driving the stolen vehicle at the time of his arrest. The vehicle was recovered by the Hayti Police department and returned it to the owner. Davis was transported to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office and incarcerated pending formal charges. The Pemiscot County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged Davis with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle – 1st Degree, which is a Class D Felony. Davis is currently being held without a bond.
