DYER COUNTY, Tenn. – Early Saturday morning, a house fire in Dyer County resulted in a fatality. The fire was near the 200 block of Pecan Street in Finley and a 63 year old male resident unfortunately died in the fire.
Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box expresses his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic event. He also extends deepest appreciation to the brave men and women of the Finley, Lenox, Fowlkes and Dyersburg Fire Departments as well as Medical Center EMTs and the dedicated volunteers who responded to the scene in the frigid temperatures to help.
Dyer County Sheriff’s Office deputies, arson investigator and the TBI Fire Investigation Unit are working closely with the Dyer County Fire Department to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Additional updates may be provided as more information becomes available.
