On Friday, October 17th, around 11:17 p.m., a drive-by shooting occurred in the 900 block of Truman here in Caruthersville.

Thankfully, there were not any deaths, but that doesn’t make this act any less serious. Firing shots in our neighborhoods, where families live and children sleep, is completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated in this city.

Our officers and investigators worked quickly and relentlessly, and two arrests have already been made.

Let me be very clear: if you choose to commit violent acts in Caruthersville, we will find you. We will use every resource, follow every lead, and turn over every stone until you are held accountable.

I’m proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our investigators and officers who gave up their weekend to bring swift action in this case.

As this investigation remains active and charges are pending, no additional details will be released at this time to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
