MSHP Reports Four Fatal Crashes in Troop E

The MSHP responded to multiple fatal accidents in the Troop E over the past few days.

On Thursday, October 2nd, at 3:55pm, the MSHP responded to an accident on Northbound US 67, two miles north of the Arkansas state line in Butler County. The accident occurred as a 2024 Kia Sportage, operated by a 59 year old female from Martinsville, Indiana, crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Peterbilt and a 2023 Kia Rio. The 42 year old male driver of the Kia Rio was pronounced at the scene by paramedics at 4:35pm. This is Troop E fatality number 45 for 2025.

On Thursday, October 2nd at 7:35pm, the MSHP responded to an single vehicle accident on US 67, three miles north of Poplar Bluff in Butler County. The accident occurred as a 2023 Spark 150 Moped, operated bya 37 year old male from Poplar Bluff was northbound and struck an animal in the roadway, ejecting the driver. The driver was airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital, where he was later pronounced at 3:38pm on Friday, October 3rd. This is Troop E fatality number 46 for 2025.

On Saturday, October 4th, at 5:10pm, the MSHP responded to a two vehicle accident on I-55 Northbound, at the 62 mile marker in New Madrid County. The accident occurred as a 2002 Toyota Sequoia, operated by a 45 year old female from Memphis, TN, ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected then ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the cable barrier, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject an occupant. A 2024 Ford F150, operated by a 40 year old male from Sikeston, avoided the Sequoia but ran off the right side of the roadway. One occupant of the Sequoia was pronounced at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle at 5:46pm. This is Troop E fatality number 47 for 2025. Two other occupant of the Sequoia were transported by ambulance to separate medical facilities.

On Saturday, October 4th, at 8:30pm, the MSHP responded to a single vehicle accident in Stoddard County on Route AB, 3 miles east of Aquilla. The accident occurred as a 2019 Polaris Razer Turbo, operated by a 26 year old male from Bloomfield, ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The driver was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced at 9:34pm. This is Troop E fatality number 48 for 2025.
