A Dyersburg man was arraigned yesterday on multiple counts of arson and evading arrest after allegedly setting fires Sunday evening to a local apartment complex.
According to the Dyersburg Police Department, 19 year old David Weir set two separate fires at St. John Apartments during the early evening hours on Sunday. Officers were dispatched to the address regarding Weir three times in less than three hours.
According to the report, the first complaint was received about a broken window at 6:40 p.m. By 9 p.m., officers were dispatched back to the address regarding two fires, one set to a rear door of an apartment and another in a vacant apartment.
Officers identified Weir as a suspect after discovering he was allegedly in a dispute with a family member at the complex. He was seen watching nearby and was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
