MSHP Works A Fatal Crash in Butler County

On Friday night, around 10:45pm, the MSHP responded to a two vehicle crash on US 67, two miles north of Poplar Bluff in Butler County. The crash occurred as a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 47 year old female from Greenville, struck the rear of a northbound electric scooter operated by a 31 year old male from Poplar Bluff. The driver of the scooter was pronounced at the scene by medical personnel at 11:05pm. This is Troop E fatality #44 for 2025.

On Saturday, September 20th, at 9:20pm, the MSHP responded to a two vehicle crash on MO-T, four miles south of Wappapello in Butler County. The crash happened as an eastbound 2014 Dodge Avenger, driven by a 39 year old male from Puxico, failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a southbound 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 76 year old male from Poplar Bluff. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. The 39 year old driver of the Avenger was not wearing a seat belt and received serious injuries. He was air lifted to St. Louis University Hospital. An 82 year old female occupant of the Silverado also sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
