The Pemiscot County Historical Society, in conjunction with Caruthersville Public Library, will host the Pemiscot County Wall of Distinction, which will honor those who were selected by a committee of Historical Society members. Those elected to the Wall of Distinction must have lived in Pemiscot County for at least 50 years and made a strong contribution to those living in the county. These members may be living or deceased.

Recently the selection committee chose five people to be a part of the honored group this year for the Wall of Distinction. A ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. on September 26th in the Baxter Southern auditorium to learn about the members of this prestigious group by hearing about their life and work and the contributions they have made to Pemiscot County during their lifetime.

A plaque will also be unveiled at that time by the Historical Society with the names of this new “class” of the Wall of Distinction.

The 2025 Pemiscot County Wall of Distinction honorees are: Ron Birmingham, Billy Booth, John England, Charles Albert Faris, and Glenn O. Petersen.

Everyone is invited to come out to Caruthersville Public Library on Friday September 26th to hear the life stories and honor the recipients of the Pemiscot County Wall of Distinction and to enjoy a reception in their honor in the main conference room.
