On Monday, August 18th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol worked a single vehicle accident in New Madrid County. The crash occurred around 8:10am on Route U, 1.5 miles north of New Madrid, as a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette driven by a 39 year old male from New Madrid, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne and then overturned. The driver was airlifted to Region One in Memphis with serious injuries.
