DCSO Investigating an Abandoned Infant and Four Deceased Individuals

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office reports at approximately 3:11pm yesterday, the Sheriff’s office received a call regarding an incident on Old Highway 20 near the Tigrett area, where an infant in a car seat was dropped off in a random individual’s front yard. Thankfully a witness saw the car seat with the child and called 911. The child was evaluated by Medical Center EMS and the Crockett County Ambulance Service. Investigators have identified the child and her parents, who are missing. Dyer County investigators are actively working alongside the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at a crime scene in Lake County, where four individuals have been found deceased. The identities of the deceased are currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been requested to respond to assist with this incident.
