The City of Caruthersville would like to inform residents that the previously anticipated closure of the Diane Sayre Recreation Center on August 1st, 2025 will be temporarily delayed. Instead of a full closure at this time, the city will begin addressing certain minor maintenance and repair projects in phases, allowing the facility to remain open to the public for the time being. This phased approach will enable staff to complete preliminary updates with minimal disruption to services. However, a full temporary closure of the Recreation Center will still be necessary in the near future to carry out more extensive repairs and upgrades needed to ensure the safety, functionality, and overall experience of the facility for our community. The City of Caruthersville appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents as we work to improve the facility. Our goal is to keep services available for as long as possible while prioritizing the health and safety of all who use the facility. Additional details about the timing and duration of the full closure will be provided as soon as the project schedule is finalized. Updates will be posted on the City of Caruthersville’s social media channels.
