Kennett Awarded Strategic Planning Grant from DRA

delta-regional-2

The City of Kennett has been awarded more than $56,000 by the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) through its 2025 Strategic Planning Program, one of just thirteen communities selected across the eight-state DRA region. The funding will support the creation of a citywide Five-Year Comprehensive plan to guide future growth, economic development and infrastructure investment.

Kennett’s award was granted based on its demonstrated need for long-range planning to support job creation and infrastructure improvements. The resulting plan will address key priorities such as land use, transportation, housing, public services and economic development – all with direct input from residents.

To help lead this effort, the city is now forming a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee of 12 to 14 members, composed of residents who reflect a wide swath of the community. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside within the Kennett city limits.

For more information or to apply for the Steering Committee, pick up an application and job description at City Hall or visit the city website – www.cityofkennettmo.com. Applications are due by July 31st.  The full release can be found on the city website as well.
