Press Release from the Caruthersville Police Department:
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 11:38pm, officers were dispatched to the area of East 10th and Maple street in response to a report of a large disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed an unruly crowd of approximately 100 individuals blocking the roadway and multiple fights in progress. Officers issued several verbal warnings instructing the crowd to disperse; however, the crowd refused to comply. To restore order and ensure public safety, officers utilized pepper ball launchers and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray to gain compliance and disperse the crowd.
