The Kennett School Board held their monthly meeting last week. During the session, the Board learned May enrollment for the district was 1,662 students. That’s a decrease of six from April and 89 from last year.
In what was mostly routine business:
- The Board authorized the publication of the district financial report following the completion of the annual school audit.
- Authorized the superintendent and the auditor to review final budget figures and allow for any amendments and transfers, as needed.
- Approved the non-resident tuition rate of $10,875.
- Authorized the assistant superintendent to obtain bids for the purchase of two used 71-passenger school buses.
- During the closed session the Board approved the extra duty list to include Melanie Wyatt as a KHS track assistant, Caroline Byers as KMS head softball coach, Madison Parr as an assistant coach for KMS softball, and Hayden Thomas as an assistant track coach.
