The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting the Portageville Police Department with a death investigation near the corner of 5th and Warren Streets. Officers found a subject deceased in the street early Sunday. The SEMO Major Case Squad has been activated and is assisting with the investigation.
