Jackson, TN – Arrest warrants have been issued for for the father of a missing Union City, TN child. The Interim United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee announced the issuance of the arrest warrants yesterday against 39 year old Jose Chavez. Chavez has been charged with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm; willful failure to comply with removal procedures in violation; and flight to avoid prosecution.
A news release states the FBI, ICE, and the US Marshals Service are working together in coordination with the Union City Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to safely locate Chavez and his child, who have not been seen in the Union City area since May 2.
A statewide Endangered Child Alert was issued on May 5.
