
There were no traffic deaths in southeast Missouri during the weekend, but a South Carolina man was seriously hurt when the vehicle he was driving ran off I-155 in Pemiscot County and overturned. According to the MSHP, the 71 year old from Simpsonville was seriously hurt and taken by Survival Flight to a Memphis hospital.
That crash happened at 11 a.m. Saturday.
A car struck the rear of a Peterbilt then two other vehicles on I-55 in New Madrid County Saturday afternoon, leaving five people in the car hurt. Troop E reports the car’s occupants were all from the St. Louis area.
The driver and one of the passengers were seriously hurt, while three other passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
That crash happened just after 2 p.m.
