One person was arrested on several charges, including resisting arrest, in Pemiscot County Sunday. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy Sunday saw a truck stationary in the middle of State Highway 164 in the Cottonwood Point area. When the driver saw the deputy’s car approaching, he fled at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit continued onto CR 553, where the vehicle stopped at a residence. While trying to restrain the suspect, identified as Jonathan Turnbow, there was a brief struggle. Turnbow was restrained by the deputy and placed under arrest.
Besides resisting arrest, Turnbow faces charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, careless and imprudent driving, and endangering the public.
Bond was set at $25,000; Turnbow will be arraigned Thursday.
