The MSHP has completed this year’s school bus inspections. According to a news release, more than 10,000 buses were approved upon initial inspection, 799 were rated defective, and 312 were rated as ‘out of service.’
Buses with identified defective components require repair within 10 days. Buses placed out-of-service require the correction of the component(s), reinspection, and a return to service by Patrol personnel prior to further usage.
The MSHP inspected 19 Kennett School District buses. Eleven were approved, eight were found defective. No buses were rated out of service.
Ten Caruthersville buses were inspected. Seven were approved, two were found defective, and one was rated out of service.
All ten Portageville buses inspected were approved.
The results of all school districts can be found on the MSHP website.
