
A rezoning request by the owner of the old hospital property got five out of nine members of the Kennett City Council but fell two short of passage. During last night’s meeting, the request by Mohammed Nawid to rezone the property from R-1 (residential) to B-2 (general business), was debated.
Mayor Jake Crafton called for the vote.
What did pass last night was the new city budget and with surprising ease given the city’s history – the Council approved the future hiring of a city administrator. We’ll have more on that tomorrow.
