Governor Mike Kehoe has requested a federal Emergency Declaration in response to Friday’s tornadoes in the southeast Missouri and the St. Louis area. EF-3 and EF-1 tornadoes ripped through Scott and Stoddard Counties, leading to two deaths in Scott County.  The declaration includes the St. Louis region, where five people died.

The governor is also requesting the Federal Emergency Management Agency participate in joint preliminary assessments of damage to homes and personal property in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Cape Girardeau, Iron, New Madrid, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne counties.

This is the third request from Kehoe for federal help this spring.
