A Hayti man was charged yesterday with first degree assault after an altercation with authorities Tuesday night. According to Hayti Police, 27 year old Austin Morgan is facing more felony charges as the investigation continues.
Morgan, who had outstanding warrants against him on charges of stealing and counterfeiting, was approached by police at a local business. A fight with police ensued, a chase in which Morgan allegedly rammed his car into patrol vehicles, and ultimately with the help of Pemiscot County deputies, he was arrested.
