W Tennessee Man Sentenced to Federal Prison

Jackson, TN – A federal judge in West Tennessee has sentenced 41 year old Michael Eaton of Union City to almost nine years in federal prison for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Reagan Fondren, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, announced the sentence Wednesday.

According to evidence presented in court, on February 11, 2023, an officer with the Union City Police Department pulled over a vehicle for a window tint violation. During the stop, the passenger, Eaton, became involved in a confrontation with law enforcement officers, who eventually detained him and found him in possession of a loaded Charter Arms .38 special caliber revolver. Eaton is a felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Last January, Eaton was indicted, and he pled guilty August.
