70 year old Bridge Slated for Replacement

The Highway 62 bridge over the St. Francis River that has connected Dunklin and Clay counties since 1953 is slated for replacement next year. Yesterday the public had a chance to ask questions and get further information about the $14 million project. Project Manager Donna Philpot says the new bridge will be constructed along the same alignment as the current one. There are some factors that make that the best option.

Final plans are expected next spring with work beginning late summer 2025. Current estimates are that it will take a year to complete the project.
