Kennett’s athletic director is retiring at the end of the school year, but he’s still involved in a couple of projects this summer that he’s spearheaded. Jim Vaughan began a golf tournament in 2016 to raise money for various athletics projects. He says since then the event has really grown.
This year’s event is Friday, June 21 at the Kennett Country Club with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The second project is the Hall of Fame – something that had become dormant until Vaughan resurrected it after become AD. He says they are accepting nominations in four categories.
The nomination deadline is June 17, and Vaughan says the HOF committee will meet in July to pick the inductees. The HOF ceremony is at the Indians’ first home game, September 6, against Paragould.
