Representatives of the Missouri Broadband Office recently joined Pemiscot Dunklin Fiber, Pemiscot Dunklin Cooperative, county commissioners, and local leaders across the Bootheel to announce a grant award of just over $4 million to bring high speed fiber broadband to unserved and underserved areas in two counties.

The Broadband Office announced that PD Fiber was awarded more than $2.2 million in northern Dunklin County and over $1.7 million for southeastern Butler County.

According to a news release, the funds will provide broadband service to approximately 850 households, businesses, and community buildings.

In January, the Department of Economic Development announced that it had awarded $261 million through the American Rescue Plan Act to 60 recipients for projects that will expand and improve internet access statewide.
