More questions than real answers came out of a meeting last night at Kennett City Hall of the so-called hospital committee. City Councilman Bill Palmer began the meeting by discussing the certificate of need extension requested by the current owners – Platinum Group. Palmer said a letter showing opposition to the extension should be sent to the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee before its May 1 meeting.
While that letter will be sent and a few people will attend the meeting in Jefferson City, there was more discussion about the company Palmer continues to tout with frustratingly few details provided. What little is known raised concerns from several present last night, including Gary Figgins.
Palmer did confirm again last night the unnamed company wants to build on 140 acres. Most attending the meeting thought that was not feasible.
