A statement to the citizens of Kennett from Mayor Dr. Chancellor Wayne

Due to ongoing issues between the City of Kennett and City, Light, Gas and Water, several council members requested an ordinance to abolish the Board of Public Works. This ordinance was to be presented at the Council meeting held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, however, prior to the meeting, it was decided by several council members to table this issue.

My pledge to the citizens of Kennett follows: If this is, indeed, brought forth, and results in a tie, I will vote not in favor of abolishment.

My prayer, as we move on, is that the City of Kennett and CLGW will come together and proceed in the best interests for Kennett.
