Former Cardinal and Royal Passes Away

Gideon native and former pitcher for the Cardinals and Royals, Mark Littell, passed away Friday at the age of 69. Littell pitched in the Big Leagues from 1973 to 1982.

Bone spurs in his elbow cut his career short; he retired mid-way through the 1982 season.

Interestingly, Littell was dealt to the Cardinals from the Royals in exchange for Al Hrabosky.

A great book if you love baseball is Littell’s “On the 8th day God Made Baseball.”
