Turkey Season Continues Through Sunday

Turkey season continues in Missouri through Sunday. Eric Heuring of the Department of Conservation says hunters have harvested just over 31,000 turkeys, not far behind last year.

The Bootheel is not known for its turkey population. In fact, Dunklin County has the lowest number in the state, with just 15 harvested. Most of that, according to Heuring, will happen around Campbell.

39 turkeys have been harvested so far in Pemiscot County – while that’s not a lot, Heuring says many are surprised it’s that high.

65 turkeys have been harvested in New Madrid County, 86 in Butler County, and 215 in Stoddard County.
