Spain Urges Preparation for Severe Weather

This is a good week to get ready for any kind curve ball Mother Nature might throw at us. It’s Missouri Severe Weather Preparedness Week, and a statewide tornado drill was held yesterday as part of the observance. The outdoor sirens didn’t sound in Kennett because of cloudy skies, but they work just fine as they sounded early Monday morning when a tornado warning was issued.

That’s Fire Chief Paul Spain, who urged us to prepare for severe weather by having different modes of notification — such as a NOAA weather radio and weather apps on phones.

And don’t forget to change batteries in any device that needs them.
