Late last year, Kennett City Councilman Bill Palmer volunteered to lead a group to help bring a hospital back to the city. It’s taken a while to form that group, but it’s meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
It’s unclear what can be accomplished by the group. In November it was announced that Mainstreet Health Ventures was given a six month extension of its Certificate of Need. That group announced at the same time it intended to transfer the CON to United Community Health Group out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. HTN reached out to Mainstreet and asked if that transfer has taken place but have yet to hear a response.
Tonight’s meeting is open to the public. Masks are required of those attending.
