Kennett School Board Meets in January Session

The Kennett School Board met in its monthly session Tuesday night. During the meeting, the board learned that December enrollment was 1,845, an increase of four students from November but a decrease of eight from the last month of 2020. The district was reimbursed for over 19,600 lunch and over 22,200 breakfast meals in December.

The Board approved July 31-August 7 as this year’s ‘dead period’ for all MSHSAA sponsored activities with the first possible fall sports practice date of August 8.

During the closed session, the Board ok’d Aaron New’s request to relinquish his position as KHS assistant volleyball coach, effective at the end of the school year.

Also, the Board extended the contract of Superintendent Dr. Chris Wilson and rehired Dr. Richie Leeker as Assistant Superintendent for the next school year.
