Charges Upgraded in Hayti Murder Case

Charges have been upgraded against one of the suspects in the death of a Hayti man in July. Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver amended charges filed against 28 year old Elizabeth Bridges to first degree murder, felony murder, armed criminal action, two counts of felony tampering with physical evidence and leaving the scene of an accident. She was previously charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action.

On July 10, Randy Thomas of Hayti was stabbed and allegedly hit by a vehicle.

33 year old Jimmy Bridges of Caruthersville, is also charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

Elizabeth Bridges appeared in court yesterday for a preliminary hearing. She was bound over to Division One of the Pemiscot County Circuit Court. Her next court appearance is late next month.

Jimmy Bridges’ next court appearance is set for December 7.
