One person was killed in a two vehicle traffic accident on Highway 25 just south of the Malden city limits Saturday afternoon. According to the MSHP, 31 year old Justin Brookman of Ellington was killed when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a pickup driven by 55 year old Steve Skaggs of Campbell.
Skaggs was seriously hurt as was a passenger in his truck, 62 year old Dennis Thompson of Gibson. They were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
The accident happened at 4:20 p.m. This is the 45th death in SE Missouri traffic accidents this year.
